Trust and Local Advisory Board
As an Academy we do not come under the responsibility of the Local Authority, instead we are part of a Multi Academy Trust that is funded directly by the Department for Education. The Trust (Primary Quest) is responsible for everything: the school buildings and grounds; the employment of staff, and all aspects relating to the education provision for our pupils. Trustees are Directors of what is, in effect, a small sized company. Mr Stephen Dean is the CEO of Primary Quest Trust. Due to the evolution of executive headship model and to ensure the Local Advisory Board remains sustainable, we have formed a joint board over both Redmarley and Bromesberrow primary schools. This is a unique opportunity and allows us to triangulate and learn from each other.

The Local Advisory Board is responsible for Safeguarding, Christian Distinctiveness, Health and Safety and the implementation of the Curriculum and is responsible to the Trust Board. Further information of Governance is available at https://www.primaryquest.co.uk/governance. The Local Advisory Boards meet 5 times a year.

Curriculum
The Local Advisory Board is responsible for monitoring the delivery and organisation of the school’s curriculum; the progress that your children make in their learning, and the standards that are being achieved at key points throughout the time that your children are with us. We use the Trust and School Development Plan to focus in on learning to ensure that our objectives are being achieved in practice as a lived reality.
Additionally, we have responsibility for ensuring that a Christian ethos pervades all that is done in the school.
Health, Safety and Safeguarding
The Local Advisory Board is responsible for ensuring that the Health and Safety procedures are followed and adhered to. This includes reviewing of policies and practice.
Meet our Local Advisory Board
Gemma Flusk and Mel Orgee- Co-Chair of LAB (Foundation)
Gemma and Mel can be contacted via chair@redmarley.gloucs.sch.uk . Gemma is also named Governor for Safeguarding and Mel, Early Years. Gemma and Mel ensure that all our meetings run as they should do, in line with the Trust Business Plan. Gemma visits school regularly to undertake safeguarding checks, ensuring we are compliant as a school and Mel also to check the quality of education in the early years. This helps them to be informed and triangulate what they are hearing in meetings to what is happening in school.
Kay Sharpe - Foundation
Kay is a Foundation Governor, responsible for ensuring the Christian ethos is maintained in school. She is committed to promoting our home/school values, such as, truth, love and compassion, as well as encouraging the continued close links between the Church and school. She regularly visits school to gain a better understanding of need and how the school support this in practice.
Kay is committed to pray for the school community and everyone involved in helping each child reach their full potential.
Laura Hankins - Head Teacher
Laura is the executive headteacher across Redmarley and Bromesberrow Primary Schools. Both Church of England schools and both part of Primary Quest.
Arianna Gilbert and Robyn Oakes - Staff
Arianna and Robyn share the role of staff Local Advisor. Arianna is also Wellbeing and PSHE Lead and Robyn is SENCO.
Charlotte Fearne- Parent Local Advisor
Charlotte has a specialism and extensive knowledge in relational, restorative practice. She focuses her visits in school on Behaviour.
James Burnford - Foundation Local Advisor
James has a background in secondary education. James has a keen focus on writing and focuses his visits to school on English. This supports his understanding of the English curriculum in school and how this is lived out.
Alex Davis-Parent Local Advisor
Alex has worked in secondary education and continues in a tutoring capacity. He works as a local retained fire fighter. He focuses his visits around maths and health and safety.

The Foundation local advisors have a special role in this Voluntary Controlled Church of England School. They are appointed by the Church, and safeguard the interests of the Church as the owner of the school. They bring to the Governing Body an informed regard for the Church nature of the foundation of the school, to ensure that its Christian ethos is preserved and developed and that religious education reflects within a modern curricular context, the requirement of the Trust Deed: – That the school should be used “for the education of children and shall always be in union with and conducted according to the principles of the Established Church”
