Wellbeing at Bromesberrow

Shining Together, We Reach for the Stars

At Bromesberrow, we value the wellbeing of our children, parents and staff. We are delighted that our school has been taking part in a continuously growing national programme to help make mental health support for our children more available when they and their families need it through Young Minds Matter (formally trailblazers). We work with the NHS in Gloucestershire to introduce support teams within school, we have the opportunity to reach out to professionals in ways to assist us as teachers and also give our children and families the guidance they may need.

These teams provide valuable strategies and support to our children to help them with life’s little ups and downs, for example, friendship concerns, understanding their behaviours or worries they may have. This support could be given 1-1 or in group work.

Young Minds Matter, also offers support for parents and teachers to help their children and young people who are experiencing difficulties through a wide range of training and can link with other Gloucestershire services.

If you would like any further information or feel a referral to the service may be supportive please contact your school's Senior Mental Health Lead: Leonie Mison lmison@st-marys-bromesberrow.gloucs.sch.uk

Pastoral Support: Amy Chesham achesham@st-marys-bromesberrow.gloucs.sch.uk .For academic year 2024-25, Mrs Chesham will be on Maternity Leave.

All referrals and concerns to be made through Leonie Mison.

We have wanted to put into place more and more opportunities for the children to think carefully about their own mental wellbeing and how important it is to appreciate the little things and refocus when feeling overwhelmed. Developing our PSHE curriculum and the enrichment opportunities such as Bromesberrow gets Growing has really supported this.

School has a Pastoral Assistant who supports children socially and emotionally through the ups and downs of childhood. Providing a key person to be able to support children in the classroom but also outside on the playground. School staff are all invested in supporting children socially and emotionally and with this we have ensured CPD has been provided for all so that we are all best equipped to support children in this way.

We have attached some useful links below, with some great strategies to support our children and parents.
