In school we will be focussing on Internet Safety On February 7th as it is National Internet Safety Day, with the theme being "Together for a Better Internet.
We will be looking at some of the Apps and games that the children are accessing and need to flag these up to you too.
Fortnite: Battle Royale is a popular game with an age rating of 12. It contains carton violence including a variety of weapons used to kill others playing the game. A chat facility allows users to contact one another using text or voice. Players that have an account can add friends and it allows potentially expensive in-app purchases. Of more general concern is the addictive nature of visually stunning games such as Fortnite.
It is very easy for a child to spend far too long playing online which in turn can lead to health issues such as obesity, tiredness and repetitive strain injury.
Grand Theft Auto is an action-adventure video game series where
players control criminals and wreak havoc in order to complete missions
and progress through the game. During the early stages of the game, it
solely focuses on completing missions to go up a level. However, as the
game grew more popular the makers of GTA decided to introduce a
narrative to each edition of the game. The aim of this was to increase user
engagement, making gamers believe that they were not just playing as
